Face Forward to Fall 2011

Straight from the runway, the Fall 2011 fashion season incorporates some beautiful makeup looks to complement its beautiful clothes. From the retro-styling of Jean Charles de Castelbajac, to the futurism of Alexander McQueen, Fall 2011 makeup is all about the interplay of light and drama.

Pale faces with a focus on dramatic eyes or lips dominate the runway this season paying heed to classic makeup looks. This is great news to off-runway makeup wearers, because many of these looks are very easy to achieve with minimal colors, tools and knowledge. Here are some suggestions on how to get these beautiful runway looks using Afterglow colors.

Jean Charles de CastelbajacThis is a very classic makeup look (minus the line-drawn brows and scary hat). Overall, the look is very minimal with a light face and lightly contoured cheeks. The eyelids are pale and slightly defined with a dark brown, complemented with defined dark brows and lashes. Lastly, lips are the center point on this face in a brilliant classic red.Face: Organic Mineral Foundation, one shade lighter than you normally wear
Cheeks: Organic Glow Bronzer in Medium or Deep
Eyes: Ultra Matte Eye Shadow in Khaki and Cocoa
Brows: Ultra Matte Eye Shadow in Cocoa
Lashes: Pure Soul Mascara in Onyx
Lips: Organic Lip Love Lipstick in Courage

Alexander McQueenThis look is futuristic in nature in keeping with the clothes. A pale face is slightly accentuated with subtly defined eyes and barely there lips and cheeks.Cheeks: Organic Glow Bronzer in Medium or Deep. Contour slightly on the underside of the cheekbone.
Eyes: Mineral Eye Shadow in Snow. Highlight lids from lashes to brow bone.
Liner: Organic Pencil Eye Liner in Gravity. Apply and smudge.
Lashes: Pure Soul Mascara in Onyx
Lips: Organic Lip Love Lipstick in Adore

Elie SaabThis is one of the prettiest and most wearable looks from the Fall 2011 season. Eyes are lightly defined with a healthy color in the cheeks and lips.Cheeks: Organic Mineral Blush in Peachy
Eyes: Ultra Matte Eye Shadow in Petal or Khaki
Liner: Ultra Matte Eye Shadow in Pebble. Apply and smudge
Lashes: Pure Soul Mascara in Mink
Lips: Layer Organic Hydra Gloss in Bubble over Organic Lip Love Lipstick in Haiku
